Please note that an additional €1.20 must be added to the total amount to be paid when opting to pay by bank cheques in Euro issues on a foreign bank. This is an administrative fee deducted by banks towards the clearance and processing of foreign bank cheques. Also, kindly note that foreign bank cheques require a minimum of 30 working days to be cleared by foreign and local banks thus prolonging the time taken for processing the application.

It has come to the attention of the Commerce Department that local Trademark applicants are receiving invitations to pay fees that do not originate from the Industrial Property Registrations Directorate within the Commerce Department and which are unrelated to the processing of Trademark applications carried out by this office. If you receive an unsolicited invitation regarding renewal, publication, transfer or any other procedure in connection with your Trademark registration, DO NOT PAY IT until you have checked carefully to see what services are being offered and whether the source is official.
